The Finance Department seeks a Temp Staff Accountant to be responsible for maintaining the accounts receivable subledger and ensuring all invoices have been posted properly. This position will also be responsible for processing the daily, weekly and monthly transactions for various entities. This includes posting journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, documenting processes and procedures and recommending related improvements. This position is for approximately two months, and you will need to work at the Pastoral Center in Braintree
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, post journal entries and analyze general ledger accounts, supporting work papers and monthly financial and management reports for assigned entities or funds.
Assist with the annual audit for the assigned entities.
Update and reconcile the special collections database on a daily basis and provide monthly reports to the Vicar General’s office.
Analyze and upload the monthly CMB A/R invoices and apply receipts to customer accounts within Sage/Intacct.
Submit general billing items for the CMB billing to a third-party vendor and analyze the invoices to ensure accuracy.
Work with Treasury to prepare and process the monthly ACH file for all CMB invoices. Follow up with the respective business managers for any ACH transactions that were not debited properly.
Prepare monthly reconciliations and analyses of open A/R balances for each entity.
Research and respond to CMB inquiries from various billing locations.
Process the daily deposit receipts via remote bank scanners and record those transactions to the general ledger.
Interact in a positive and professional manner with staff and visitors at the pastoral Center.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
Intacct experience a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially word and excel.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively through e-mail and/or telephone.
Strong service orientation.
Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Church.
PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:
Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours/day.
