Music Director (FT), Good Shepherd Parish, Wayland, MA

Good Shepherd Parish in Wayland, MA is looking for a full-time Music Director. The position calls for thirty hours per week (30 hrs/wk), year-round. Duties will include:

• Selecting and Planning the Hymns and Responsorial Psalm for Liturgies for Solemnities, Funerals, and Weddings
• Training and Rehearsing the Cantors, Choir, and Instrumentalists
• Growing the Volunteer Music Ministry (Recruiting Cantors and Choir Members)
• Coordinating Schedules for Cantors and Choir
• Playing Piano/Organ at three (3) Weekend Masses, Funerals, Confirmation, the Easter Triduum, Holy Days of Obligation, and Other Special Liturgies
• Securing a fill-in musician to play at Sunday evening Mass
• Maintaining both Physical and Digital Libraries of Music and Repertoire Lists
• Creating and Maintaining a Children’s Choir for Christmas and Easter
• Administrative Duties Related to the Upkeep and Proper Functioning of Music Ministry

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Sacred Music and have significant experience in music ministry. A knowledge of and reverence for the Catholic Mass, good communication skills, willingness to cooperate with the Pastor and other staff members are a must. The candidate should be a Catholic in good standing. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
