The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Boston, A Corporation Sole D/B/A Archdiocese of Boston seeks twenty (20) Roman Catholic Priests for employment in the following counties in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts: Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Plymouth. A Roman Catholic Priest will perform the following duties:
Celebrate Holy Mass, preach the Word of God, conduct Roman Catholic religious worship, perform other spiritual functions associated with the beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic faith, provide spiritual and moral guidance to members of the Roman Catholic Church, draft and deliver sermons, deliver talks to various educational and religious groups, visit the sick, interpret the doctrine of religion as specified by the Roman Catholic faith, and administer the Roman Catholic religious Sacraments of Baptism, Penance, Holy Communion, Marriage, and Last Rites, as well as performing funeral services. This role includes assisting those in need, counseling those with a spiritual need, comforting the bereaved, serving as moral counsel to those who seek such, and serving as a spiritual leader, as a servant to the Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, through Him all things are made. In addition, a Roman Catholic Priest assists with the following religious education programs: Sacrament of the Holy Communion and preparation for the Sacrament of Holy Communion course for children, Sacrament of Baptismal classes, bible study classes for children, and bible study classes for adults and elderly. Daily religious duties including conducting Roman Catholic religious worship, performing other spiritual functions associated with the beliefs and practices of the Roman Catholic faith, providing spiritual and moral guidance to the parishioners of the archdiocese. In addition to celebrating Roman Catholic Holy Masses, the role requires one to prepare and deliver sermons for religious worship and preaching the Word of the Lord Jesus Christ to the Roman Catholic community. Deliver talks to various educational and religious groups, interpret the doctrine of religion, as specified by the Roman Catholic faith. Administer the Roman Catholic religious Sacraments of Baptism, Penance, Holy Communion, Marriage, and Last Rites. As part of the vocation to assist those in need, a Roman Catholic priest visits the sick, counsels those in spiritual need, celebrates Roman Catholic Masses, serves at funerals, and comforts the bereaved. Must have been baptized a Roman Catholic, received the Holy Sacraments of Holy Communion, Confirmation, and Holy Orders, and must be a practicing Roman Catholic. A practicing Roman Catholic is one who believes in the Word of the Lord Jesus Christ. These are necessary as the role is religious specific to the Roman Catholic Church.
Travel will be within the jurisdictional boundaries of the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Boston, A Corporation Sole D/B/A Archdiocese of Boston, which includes the following counties in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts: Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Plymouth. Travel for employment is no more than 10% of employment.
Education Requirement: minimum of a Bachelor's degree from a U.S. College or University in Theology, Philosophy, or Divinity. A foreign equivalent is acceptable.
