BOSTON – The Cathedral of the Holy Cross celebrates 150 years of its historic pipe organ of 5,292 pipes: the 1875 E. & G. G. Hook & Hastings, Opus 801.
In 2020, Gavin assumed the role of Distinguished Artist-in-Residence at the Harvard Historical Society in Harvard, a position he held until the commencement of his college studies. He has also received awards from the American Guild of Organists in 2018 and 2019.
Klein is an Organ Scholar at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, class of 2026. Klein is a student of Dr. Ezequiel Menendez, following previous instruction from C. Henry Mason and William Ness. Furthermore, his musical abilities encompass both harpsichord studies under the guidance of Dr. Johann Klopp and piano instruction from Ms. Judit Ernst.
Artists to come on the 150th Celebration of Opus 801 include : Leo D. Abbott, Director of Music & Organist, Emeritus, Cathedral of the Holy Cross, James Kennerley, Municipal Organist of Portland, Maine, and Rosalind Mohnsen, Immaculate Conception, Malden.
